Job Costing Overview
The Job Costing section provides a detailed breakdown of your Service Work financials, including labor costs, materials costs, total cost, profit, and margin. This view helps you quickly understand where money is being spent and how much profit is generated per job. You can also edit costs as needed to better align with your margin expectations.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Navigate to the Job Costing page by selecting the Service tab, then clicking Job Costing from the menu. This will display a full list of your service jobs along with a breakdown of margins.
Step 2: Scroll to the bottom of the ticket you selected to view a detailed breakdown.
The right side displays the Cost Breakdown including labor, materials, and total cost.
The left side displays the Margin Breakdown, including a visual representation of profit percentage.
Step 3: To make changes, click "Edit Costs" to return to the pricing section of your work order. From here, you can update labor or material values as needed. You can also return to the Work Order by selecting the Work Order tab at the top of the screen.
💡 Tip: To quickly access job costing for a service ticket you're currently working on, click the Job Costing tab after you've established pricing.
